Prevent the summer slide! Read 30 minutes per day.

Super Activities scheduled so far include:
Our 7th Annual “Touch Dunbarton Trucks”
WHEN: 10:30 AM Wednesday, June 21st
WHERE: Library Parking area
Kids of all ages will have the opportunity to touch, feel and climb through each and every vehicle available. Meet a police officer and fireman and who knows who else?! Parental supervision is required, and cameras highly recommended!
Since the vehicles will be in the library’s parking spots, please plan to park at the Town Offices (if there is space) or the Dunbarton Elementary School and walk over.

“Sing a Song Together” performed by Steve Blunt and Marty Kelley
A fun, upbeat performance of songs that celebrate diversity & build community—with warmth, humor & lots of audience participation. Steve is an award-winning children’s musician who plays a delightful mix of original tunes & beloved standards. This year’s summer reading show emphasizes that “We Are the Village,” featuring multicultural drumming, Spanish language, ASL signing & songs from the American Civil Rights Movement. Kids & families can sing, dance & play along, as Steve reminds library audiences of all ages that “the more we sing together, the happier we’ll be.”
Award-winning children’s musician Steve Blunt & best-selling author/illustrator Marty Kelley team up for a fun, fresh library show with music, books and lots of laughs. These longtime friends perform catchy tunes on a variety of musical instruments--and Marty reads a few of his books aloud, with projected illustrations. A highly original combination for kids & families at the library!
Story Time on the Common
Wednesdays at 10:30 AM
Bring a blanket to sit on, water, snacks, sunblock and bug spray.

will be held on
Thursday afternoons: June 22, July 6, July 20 and August 3

Drop by to free build and create!
Read to Mr. T
Mr. T is a little Yorkshire Terrier. He is a registered/certified therapy dog from Therapy Dogs International, Chapter 205.
He comes with his handler/owner Nancy. Kids who sign up will have a 20 minute session.

Why read to a dog? Because dogs are friendly and comfy, judgement-free, and they love the attention of being read to.
Keep up your reading skills, gain more confidence in reading aloud skills, and enjoy the company of a new friend.

- Summer Reading helps prepare children for success by developing early language skills.
- Summer Reading helps young children build reading and language skills, and maintain what they worked so hard to achieve the past school year!
- Kids who read, learn, and play all summer long go back to school in the fall ready to rock and roll
