Events for Children:
Toddler Story Times
Every Wednesday at 10:30 AM!
Make new friends and enjoy interactive and energetic stories, songs and music with a unique theme each week. This Story Time is designed for ages 18 months to 4 years, and their caregivers. Babies are most welcome. Stay and play afterward!
We are growing! Please try to arrive just before 10:30 AM so that we all can start on time. Thank you very much!
If you are only coming to the "stay and play" segment, please arrive at 11:00 AM. Thanks!
Read to Dogs Schedule:
Reading to Dogs is a reading program designed to improve children's reading skills. Read aloud to a registered/certified therapy dog from Therapy Dogs International, Chapter 205. You must register to participate!
Kids in Grade 1-4 who register will have a 15 minute session with a dog of their choice. Bring your own book, or pick out one of ours to read.
Why read to a dog? Because dogs are friendly and comfy, judgement-free (no pressure!), and they love the attention of being read to!
Kids can gain more confidence in their reading aloud skills, and enjoy the company of a new friend.
If you would like more information, or to register, please call me at the library. Thank you.
Schedule for 2020: February 13 and 27, March 12 and 26, April 9 and 23, May 14 and 28th.
Please note that Pat and Jake will not be available March 12-May 14th.
Two new dogs will join us starting February 13th. Murray and Lily will alternate weeks with their owner, Liz.
Knitting for Kids (of all ages)!
Every Friday after school (2:30 PM).
Please bring your own projects, or we can help you get one going!
We are also teaming up with the DCC "Green Team" Plarn Project.
Please bring us your plastic grocery and shopping bags. We will turn these bags into plastic yarn called "plarn". The plarn will then be crocheted and knitted into bags, door mats and sleeping mats for the homeless.
