Reading to Dogs is a reading program designed to improve children's reading skills. Read aloud to a registered/certified therapy dog from Therapy Dogs International, Chapter 205. You must register to participate!
Kids in Grade 1-4 who register will have a 15 minute session with a dog of their choice. Bring your own book, or pick out one of ours to read.
Why read to a dog? Because dogs are friendly and comfy, non-judgemental (no pressure!) and they love the attention of being read to!
Kids can gain more confidence in their reading aloud skills, and enjoy the company of a new friend.
If you would like more information, or to register, please call me at the library. Thank you.
